SOUTH CHICKAMAUGA CREEK INTERCEPTOR REHABILITATION

Ardurra delivered innovative engineering solutions for the South Chickamauga Creek Interceptor Rehabilitation project, addressing critical sewer overflow reduction under a consent decree with the EPA, State of Tennessee, and Tennessee Clean Water Network. The complex project rehabilitated 9,250 feet of 72-inch and 84-inch concrete pipes from the 1970s using advanced Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) technology, providing long-term infrastructure solutions while maintaining continuous operations.

The scope required sophisticated bypass routing to handle 42,000 gallons per minute through rugged terrain, including railway crossings and busy road intersections. Environmental and logistical complexities demanded careful stakeholder coordination to minimize impacts on local waterways while ensuring public health protection and supporting Chattanooga's future growth objectives.
